BB-8™ Droid App by Sphero App Reviews

Every Star Wars fan has always dreamed of having a droid companion for their adventures. Now my family has that droid. My only recommendation would be an update that allows bb-8 to follow your phone.

Although BB8 was a little pricey, Ive been having thetime of my life! Watching TFA with it is so neat, and I love the voice controls are amazing. The only issue Ive had is that the app has crashed on me twice already, but after restarting it, it continued to work just fine. Definitely worth the investment!

Very fun all I have to say some times a bit wonky though

Its a fun "little" and I do mean little toy. Total height including the antenna is about 4.5". If you have shag carpet in your house, dont expect it to move more than 1-2". Even at full power it doesnt move well. On a flat hard surface, it will take off and leave you behind. All sounds come from your device. Set up is easy and it is entertaining once you get the hang of it. The only fault I find is non-replaceable batteries.

My 3 year old will play with him non stop and the new version is even better. Way better. Cant wait to see what they come out with next.

Really like this droid and app

This thing is just SO much fun.

The droid is cute and rolls around. It just seems to be lacking that last bit.

I love having him and he looks really good - high quality and nicely executed - but he needs more functionality. Backing up and changing direction when he bumps into something is a crucial maneuver when patrolling. Without it he just keeps getting stuck against an object and when you move him away from it, he heads back to the same object and gets stuck again. Responses to more voice commands would be great. Also, being able to send the holographic messages that I created would be a lot more fun than just watching them myself. Please keep the improvements coming.

Love this app

I purchased this lil guy for my sons 6th Birthday and he absolutely adores it. He runs it on his hand-me-down iPhone 5, that I gave him which is now a high tech iPod, and he couldnt be happier with anything except one small issue. Being six, hes still grasping the concept of charge time and remaining battery power without a readout display. Since the iPhone tells him by percentage of how much battery life remains and when he can take it off the charging cradle, he pines over the droid not having any sort of indicator for the charging or battery life. This would be an awesome addition to the BB-8 app and would, in my opinion, make it a complete droid app in having some form of battery and charging indicator. Other than that, we are very pleased with this toy.

We love this toy and this ap! We have so much fun, even though it doesnt always follow our commands. It was fun to watch the movie with BB-8 as well. Although its a bit expensive, I highly recommend it!

This is one hell of a toy!! It was so worth the money!!

I like its functionality but it has problems on carpet. I think you should know that before paying the money for it. The updates are nice too!

I LOVE the bb-8 I have it sooooo cool but I think on the messaging or watch with me feature needs more improving. Like when I do watch with me feature it never really works I plug both my iPad and bb-8 in and face bb-8 at the screen but he isnt doing ANYTHING. The messaging works pretty good its a little glitchy though the video will sometimes glitch up and starts zig zagging everywhere I just think those two need a lot more improving but the rest of the features are so awesome that I dont even care too much but if you could fix those and maybe add a few more features then this really WILL be the droid Im looking for!

So worth the money a must get !!!! I love it !

I have been a HUGE Star Wars fan my ENTIRE life! I have always wanted something really cool like this from the very beginning when Star Wars first came out. I cannot wait to see what BB-8 will do and what will come out next!
